When technique is not enough
The way we listen, communicate, resonate with others and establish boundaries has a profound influence on any relational and support process.
Knowing techniques is not enough. We also need to develop presence, body awareness and the ability to recognize what is happening within ourselves, in the other person and in the relationship.
In this in-person, theory-and-practice workshop, Liana Netto will explore five essential skills from a relational and somatic perspective.
The Five Skills We Will Explore
Active Listening and Presence
Developing the ability to be truly present with another person while maintaining contact with ourselves.
Effective and Nonviolent Communication
Recognizing how we communicate and exploring ways of expressing and receiving information with greater clarity, awareness and respect.
Compassionate Resonance and Dyadic Competence
Observing what emerges between two people and understanding how the relationship itself can become a resource for regulation and change.
Tracking Relational and Somatic Phenomena
Learning to pay attention to the bodily and relational signals that arise during interaction.
Relational Boundaries
Recognizing and maintaining clear, consistent and healthy boundaries that contribute to safety within the relationship.
Who Is This Workshop For?
This workshop is open to anyone interested in Somatic Experiencing®.
It may be particularly useful for professionals working in healthcare, education, social intervention, coaching, body-based therapies and other helping professions who wish to expand their resources for presence, communication and support.
Methodology
The workshop will take place in person and will combine theory and practice, including presentations, experiential exploration and practical application of the material.
This methodology will allow participants to understand the skills being explored and observe how they manifest both physically and within the relationship.

Instructor: Liana Netto
Liana Netto is a clinical psychologist and holds a PhD in Medicine and Health from the Federal University of Bahia. She coordinates a postgraduate program in Psychotraumatology and has extensive experience as an international Somatic Experiencing® teacher and supervisor.
Her approach integrates an understanding of trauma, the body and relationships, with particular attention to the skills that support regulation, presence and therapeutic accompaniment.

An Exceptional Setting in the Mountains Near Madrid A place to live the experience
The workshop will take place at La Cristalera, a unique venue located in Miraflores de la Sierra, surrounded by nature. The setting invites participants to slow down, deepen their experience and enjoy a few days of connection and calm.
The workshop is non-residential, so accommodation and meals are not included in the registration fee.
However, if you would like to stay overnight and enjoy these days at a slower pace, La Cristalera offers the possibility of staying at the same venue where the workshop takes place. It is an ideal option for making the most of the surroundings, spending more time with other participants and avoiding daily travel.
